dammit, post, people! post! *shakes pointy stick menacingly*

ahem.

last chance to see by douglas adams. i liked this. a lot. it's a pretty quick read, but it's good. very much in the typical douglas style, except it's true. think hitchhiker's guide to earth. at once depressing and inspiring. and it got me really pumped about getting to see the rain forest in costa rica next month! squee!!

chicago: okay, i've never seen this performed. but i do have the nbcr, and i've seen fosse. yeah. anyway, so i can't compare it to the musical, but i had a good idea of what to expect. and i really, really, really liked it. it was ridiculously sexy. dear god. very, very fosse. i was a bit miffed about the lack of the fan-dance, but i got over it. now i'm really curious to see the stage version, because i thought the movie came together really well. yes, the missing songs and the female mary sunshine were saddening, but easily overlooked. *considers* oh, and the puppet thing for "we both reached for the gun" was awesome.

born on a pirate ship by the barenaked ladies: i bought this shortly after christmas, but i hadn't really listened to it until recently. and, i heart it. yes, the title rocks. but it also has some songs i'd never heard before that i adore, like "i know" and "this is where it ends". and studio versions of "break your heart", "when i fall", "the old apartment", and "straw hat and old dirty hank". (live versions are on rock spectacle, which was the first bnl cd i bought.) i loooove how at the beginning of "break your heart", "the" becomes a 3-syllable word. it's grand.
