listening to: ani d, as is (live)

i feel really naked without my tori mp3s. i need to rip them. (see, i burned alll my other mp3s that i wanted on to one data cd. and then tori ones on, um, four audio cds. so i still need them. yes.)

anyway. started up a new sims game. i've decided to break away from the rent-themed neighborhood and go with fictional characters. my first household is tristan and yvaine thorn (from stardust by neeeeil.) mostly because i wanted to use the pretty, flow-y silver dress for yvaine. they go well. tristan got hired in the slacker track! (he's a golf caddy right now.)

(and yes, i am a big loser who stays home on friday night and plays sims. so it goes.) anyhow. future households i'm considering:
maureen and joanne (rent, of course)
trinity and neo (matrix; would allow me to use black leather. of course, so would maureen.)
anne and gilbert blythe (anne of green gables)
errrm. arwen and aragorn, perhaps.
hope and bobby strong (from urinetown)

so. basically i'm whoring myself out for suggestions about my future sims ^_^

(oh!! and i bought a costume chest, and tristan changed into a pirate outfit!!! i wanted to take a picture, but then he changed back. stupid tristan. and then i tried to make him change again, but he changed into a doctor. and then i got bored with that.)

listening to: conan o'brien show, some guy singing about preparation h

three things that i adore:
~ bessie (and airport firmware updaaaates)
~ conan o'brien
~ sleep!

*swoon* so yeah, all's working with bmm.

oh, i also adore apple safari. kickass browser.

a few things i don't adore: lack of a delete button, and lack of a home button.

but i'll deal. because i really adore this whole laptop/airport thingummie. and this is by far the sexiest computer i've ever used. (you ask how an inanimate object can be possible? well, it is. it's just very well designed. as is o sx.2.)

megan and eliz and i rock. because we finished our euro project several hours before the deadline. yay! and i'm almost done with my other euro project. which is really dumb. like. we have to... i forget the exact assignment... make one cartoon that a member of the russian intelligentsia circa 1865ish would make to convince the peasants to UPRISE! aaaah! and then one that someone today would use to convice the "peasants" to voice their opinions re: iraq. and we can't use words. so, my iraq one.. it's this big guy with big ears, and a confused look, with a thought bubble with a car in it. and then a big guy with a beret-ish hat and a mustache, and he's thinking about money. and then at the feet of the big guys are little guys with guns. and they're crying. and that's all in a dream-bubble. and then below that, there are some big guys voting for a (the ballot has pictures) guy with small ears. and then in the last panel, dubya is crying, and everyone else is holding hands. and they're medium size. ("seeee.. when they're drafted, they're small. and when they vote, they're big, because they're powerful! and when they're happy.. they're medium.")

and it's all very poorly drawn. and insanely liberal. but it's hard not to have words and be coherent. yeah.

ahem. i rock!!

i'm typing this on my sexy ibook (henceforth bessie, or bmm), in the living room, watching a rerun of conan o'brian. go me.

i'm also in a much much better mood than i was this morning. let's compare and contrast:

this morning:
pissed because my mom is a raging bitch
upset over non-working computers
stressed out because i couldn't find my bankcard or my drivers licence

now:
mom apologized for being a raging bitch, and also left the house
fixed computers
found bankcard and drivers license,
just ate karamel sutra ice cream.)

hearts!

teehee. i just put my laptop on my lap!

listening to: hi-5 theme (in my head); mrs doubtfire in the background.

random amusing quote: "so in 1991 linda [mccartney] started a line of animal... *blink* vegetarian frozen food entrees. with no animals in them."

the damned hi-5 theme song is so catchy. but i don't really know the words. so it's in my head like, "5, 5, 5 hi-5! 5 in the air, let's do it together!* hmm hmm hmmmm hmm... 5"

*does that lyric seem sort of dirty to you too?

anywho. simpsons presentation went remarkably well. there were some rumblings of mutiny (*rumble rumble rumble, mutiny mutiny mutiny*) when certain members of the audience discovered that there would be history involved in the history session. *shrug* but, their loss ^_^ the best part, imo, was when i said the above random amusing quote. stupid animals.

mm. and then i went and picked up my sexy ibook (and reid's computer and assorted peripherals), and i came home and set it up, and allll is peachy.. and then i connect to the internet, and it won't let me do anything. it keeps saying "cannot find server" even though i know it can *frowl* so i called tech support, and they were like "call your isp!" eeeven though our isp cleaaarly works on my mom's mac. and i know it's not with the phone line, cos it willlll dial and connect and such. doh. so i suppose i'll have to make a trek over to connecting point tomorry.

(i have no regrets!)

mrowr. mayhap will install sims. (and house party! they gave me house party free! although i have to buy livin' large. because i neeeed livin' large. oh yeah, and kellie, if you want hot date, it's yours. *nod* and if anyone else wants original sims and livin' large [and you do you do! if you don't have it... let me know. and i'll send you mine. i have some other quality software i need to rid myself of. let me think.
creatures 2

.. hey, pierce brosnan is in this movie! i forgot about that! ... he's hot. anyway.

um. anyway. mathblaster algebra. cosmopolitan makeover. simfarm. simtower. simisle. simsafari. (simsafari rocks! i adore it!) erm... american heritage dictionary. (this thing is greaaat, i love it. *sniff* and will miss it.) x-files unrestricted access. (like. an episode guide, but with more stuff.) maybe some others. i'll have to check upstairs. so yeah, if you want them.. comment me up.

why isn't compulsive bowlers working? *frowl*

five in the air let's do it together...

i'm off. woooot sims! haven't played it in sooo long. mostly because dora lagged like crazy whenever i tried to play it. woot.

listening to: stuart, infinity hymn

random amusing quotes: "sophie, your tongue is SO green!"
"it's because of all the sex!"

"my tummy is full of sex!"

"stop throwing sex at each other!"

(sex, incidentally, refers to those nerds [the candy] that are stuck together in big lumps, like nerd orgies. yeah.)

anyway. braces off! somebody lick me!

hi-5 today was so cute. awwww. curtis had boots! and was a rooster! but not at the same time! and, i made a hi-5 episode guide of dooom, if anyone's interested. yeah.

i was trying to figure out how to link to it, and apparently.. i designed cc.com without ever considering the possibility of curtis being on a children's teevee show. how very shortsighted of me. so. i cooould redesign it. or i could just link the episode guide from the main page.. and.. argh. fine. i need to break it up by show, not by category.. *whine* but that will be SO much work.

stupid curtis, all doin' stuff and stuff.

i'm tiiiired. simpsons presentation tomorrow. *flail* it.. should all go well. i hope.

listening to: sheryl crow, tomorrow never dies

random amusing quote: "wouldn't it be the cutest thing ever if hello kitty went on a death spree?!"

"josh, can we borrow your... *pause* large stringed instrument to go on a killing spree with?"
"please?! it'll be cute!"
"um, no."
"we'll wash it off when we're done!"

this is my favorite bond theme ever! yay!

anyway. whoooo watched hi-5 this morning?! i did! it was tres cute. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone over the age of 6 who isn't stalking curtis, though.

i accidentally said something really bitchy at spaz bowl today. doh. i've somehow aquired this reputation for being goodnatured, but reaaally i'm a bitch. well. i try to be nice to people. but there are SOME people who just ANNOY me by EXISTING. *frowl* so anyway.. at spaz bowl we always play "cares" against "cools", the cools typically consisting of me, mike, ashvin, and jeff. the "cares" all care about practice. like. they get really upset at any violation of rules. whilst the "cools" (i'm not responsible for that name, fyi) try to have a little fun... s'anyway. the "cares" think that because they care, they're smarter than we are, and that gives them the right to be rather arrogant and occasionally violent. so, yeah. anyway. so mike got some hard tossup right, and dan says, really snidely (or at least, i thought so) "oh, so that's why we keep you around!" and then i said, slightly louder than i meant to.. "yeah, and because he's far more pleasant to spend time with than... um, some people..."

meh well.

dude. jason, you so win... i'm definitely naming my computer bessie mae mucho. yaaaay! *is vastly amused* (bessie mae mucho is my favorite carmen sandiego henchperson. well... *considers* yeah. but i'm also fond of rosa sarroz-arroz. and lee and bill ding.)

oh! and in shakespeare, we're watching the movie version of much ado about nothing, and keanu reeves is don john!! (the villain!) it's so goofy! whenever he walks onstage (er, screen) the whole class just starts snickering. because.. it's keanu reeves! with goofy facial hair!! trying to be evil! baahaha!

listening to: paul mccartney, lady madonna (live)

i think i'd be an annoying person to live with, music-wise. i tend to get fixated on one song and listen to it a lot of times in a row. like, i listened to "mother nature's son" about 12 times. (the live one, off back in the us, which i think is a really awkward title. you're always cutting yourself off after the s, so it's like back in the usss... and it leaves all involved feeling vaguely uncomfortable.)

anyway. girls night out last night! very fun. we went shopping (to buy stuff for costa rica!!) and bought ice cream. and brought some to steve, because he got his wisdom teeth pulled out. but most of it we ate, while watching pride and prejudice. well.. we watched the first 3 tapes, and then we skipped to the last one... but then we watched the 5th one. and then the 4th one. yeah. and, goodtimes.

going to do work now. really. i swear.

what really happened to rml:

FAIRY TALE

Once upon a time there has a young AUTHOR named KEITH. He was MERRILY FROWLING in the FLUFFY forest when he met ANTISCURYLICIOUS STEPHEN, a run-away PIRATE from the PURPLE Queen PRISCELLIE.

KEITH could see that ANTISCURYLICIOUS STEPHEN was hungry so he reached into his BASKET and give him his CHEERFUL CHEX MIX. ANTISCURYLICIOUS STEPHEN was thankful for KEITH's CHEX MIX, so he told KEITH a very SUICIDAL story about Queen PRISCELLIE's daughter KAIT. How her mother, the PURPLE Queen PRISCELLIE, kept her locked away in a SKYSCRAPER protected by a gigantic LLAMA, because KAIT was so SQUISHY.

KEITH FRUMBLED. He vowed to ANTISCURYLICIOUS STEPHEN the PIRATE that he would save the SQUISHY KAIT. He would FLAIL the LLAMA, and take KAIT far away from her eveil mother, the PURPLE Queen PRISCELLIE, and SURF her.

Then, all of the sudden, there was a DOOM-LADEN MONSOON and ANTISCURYLICIOUS STEPHEN the PIRATE began to laugh. With a puff of smoke he turned into the gigantic LLAMA from his story. PURPLE Queen PRISCELLIE THREW out from behind a SHOE and struck KEITH dead. In the far off SKYSCRAPER you could hear a BEEP!.

THE END.

listening to: pocahontas, just around the riverbend

*frowl* stupid bloody power went out last night, and i completely lost the simpsons world history sheet i was working on. (not to mention that it froze up about six times... *deep breaths* i won't need to deal with this for much longer..)

anywho.

my new ibook needs a name. (fyi: this computer is named dora. it's short for la computadora.)
i was thinking about snow white, as kind of a play on snow glass apples. but. i really don't like snow white, i think she's a pansy.

another gaiman character perhaps? um.. death? (i could always go greek and call it teleute..) um. coraline. delirium. anaesthesia. lamia. door. um. what's the star's name? ah, yvaine. hmm. what was war's name, in good omens? carmen? *rummage* (i'm not sure why i'm assuming that my computers are female. perhaps because la computadora is feminine? perhaps just because i am female and my computer is something of an extension of meself? *shrug*) aha. carmine zuigiber. or anathema device, perhaps. hmm. computers are devices, after all. but it seems like it might be bad luck to name one's computer anathema.

i like the word perhaps.

so, practical suggestions:
~ door
~ yvaine
~ carmine
~ coraline

let's see. i could name her random, after arthur's daughter. or fenchurch.

i think door and yvaine are my favorites so far. thoughts?

the people's republic of frowltopia just changed from "democratic socialist" to "inoffensive centrist democracy"! ~_~ but, at least our economy is up to reasonable... (awhile ago i accidentally voted to outlaw extremist political groups, so i've been attempting to revitalize our civil rights and political freedoms. also, our economy sucks because i'm a damn hippie.)

The People's Republic of Frowltopia
"Don't Dream It, Be It"

UN Category: Inoffensive Centrist Democracy
Civil Rights: Very Good
Economy: Reasonable
Political Freedoms: Good

The People's Republic of Frowltopia is a large, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its burgeoning llama population. Its compassionate population of 45 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

The large government juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Public Transport, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 28%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

Cars are banned, voting is voluntary, tourists from around the world come to visit the country's famous rainforests, and the government attempting to revitalize a gutted private sector. Crime is relatively low. Frowltopia's national animal is the llama, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the flail.

see. for the simpsons thing, i need to put together a cd with just the clips that we need, not the whole episodes. uhigh has lots of video editing junk, and maura has all the episodes on cd, so piece of cake, right?! wrooong. because all the episodes are in goddamn realvideo. and all the school software works for every format except real. in fact, nothing works with real. nothing! ever! so. i finally found a realvideo-avi converter. spent abou 2 hours downloading this, installign this, findind that it only works with realvideo 8, not realone (which i have). discovver that real no longer offers rp8 for download. finally find rp8 from some like. golf course website. am confused, but grateful. now. it takes about a minute to convert each minute of video. can't edit the videos, until they're in avi! so, must convert entire episode. so half an hour. times 20. and then, i have to edit them all.

i hate my life. so very, very much.

mmm. i had a highly enjoyable day today. did some cleaning and laundry and boring stuff. watched yellow submarine. played some frowl oregon trail. i was mauled by a bear and bitten by a bear. the bear-mauling got infected ~_~ megan suffered from a concussion and a bad cold. chelle also had a concussion (we're a klutzy group) and later some scratches, from when the wagon tipped over. kait suffered from the grippe. priscellie and del made it to oregon utterly unafflicted, which i find a tad suspicious. however, we all made it to oregon city in good health, and i set a new high score! yay! [apologies to those who were unable to travel the trail, but there can only be six in a wagon train, you know.]

hmm. started reading mort, which came highly recommended by the folks at the neil gaiman boards. so far.. am intrigued, although pratchett's death has nothing on gaiman's death ^_^ (i imagine that sentence would be rather confusing to non-geeks, unfortunately i'm not in the mood to explain.)

listening to: talking heads, and she was

i'm listening to this song in tribute of megan's 19th birthday.

well, not really, winamp just went to it. but i thought it would be a nice thing to say.

i just watched teenage mutant ninja turtles 2: secret of the ooze. yeah vanilla ice. (i'm not sure if the saddest thing here it that reid owns it on dvd, or that i was like "hmm... yellow submarine or ninja turtles 2?!" and i went with ninja turtles.... )

    it was amusing.

had an interesting conversation with trina about boys. about how some people desperately want them and about how some of the people who have them don't want them. yes. and how boys like ditzy girls. yes. and how i am the girl that boys ask for advice but not on dates and how i am perfectly fine with that at this point in my life. because i would rather, i suppose, have respect than a boyfriend? which is not to imply that they are mutually exclusive. but more and more it seems like.

    um.

listening to: beatles, when i'm 64

random amusing quotes: "oh, i don't need a machine to tell me i'm fat on valentine's day!"

"... the red pill or the blue pill..."
    "damn, that dayquil is powerful!"
"no, it's totally a mike and ike. i think mike and ikes are more meaningful for me, because i'm mike too."
"yeah, but isn't that cannibalism? for you and.. eisenhower?"

    "you look familiar..."
"yeah, you've probably seen me on teevee"
    "yeah, right!"

"are the angry feminists selling tupperware?! it seems so incongrous to me."

hmm. i believe that i shall start.. .at the beginning. well. happy belated valentine's day, all! [and happy belated birthday, megan and erin! although i already talked to megan. *nod* but, that's not the beginning.]

anyway. hmm. okay, we got out of our 9:00 classes to do character counts! i adore my character counts group, it's me, trina, molly, nick, josh, and emily. so, this month's pillar is "fairness." highlights:
    ~ discussion of socialism
    ~ "fairness group hug!"
~ nick and josh's improv fairness skit
~ "fairness is when.. i don't like you.. but i'm nice to you anyway... wait, is liking people one of the pillars of character?!"

um. and then. classes. and. hmm. the thespian bakesale had LOTS of surplus food, so we distributed it amongst the lounge. then i helped a bit with scheduling crap for teen institute day, and miriam and steve and i went out for "bitter singles valentine's day". [well, i wasn't bitter. but that's okay.] so, we went to fiesta ranchera. it was good. but i foolishly volunteered to drive, because miriam and steve both have 2-door cars. unfortunately, i had forgotten that miriam and steve are the two most neurotic people i know. dear god. never, ever drive in a car with those two. to make matters worse, the roads were covered with slush, so it would have been difficult enough to drive without two backseat drivers yelling at me, and occasionally hitting me. (and it was so uncalled for!! i'm actually a decent snow driver, because no one ever plows my roads! and the first rule of driving on ice is don't panic! gah! *deep breaths* but i'm okay.)

anyway. then we visited mike at hobby lobby ("hob lob!") because he's our 4th bitter single. (actually, mike isn't bitter either.) unfortunately, he had to work, so he couldn't come to vagina monologues with us. but, rob and eliz could, so it was fun. it was an amaaazing show. i wasn't familiar with it at all when i went in, but i had been wanting to see it for awhile now.. it was *so* funny. and sad. and true. and, i saw kellie, and i bought a button from her! yay! ("if gay and lesbian people get civil rights, everyone will want them.") then, we called mike, and i dropped off miriam and steve at their cars, and kellie at her dorm, and drove to miriam's house. which was really scary. i was SO glad m&s weren't with me, because when i was trying to turn left onto main from college, the roads were so covered that i couldn't see the lines, and i didn't realize that i was like.. in the intersection. and i couldn't turn, because cars were coming, and i could go, because.. cars were coming, and i couldn't back up, because there was a car behind me.. so i just had to wait it out and hope that the cars in the far lane realized what was wrong and didn't hit me. very scary. but it allll worked out.

anyway. miriam had never seen the matrix, and we were all scandalized by this. so we designated tonight to "take miriam's matrix virginity". unfortunately, we all kept falling asleep because we were sooo tired. but we took shifts to keep miriam awake. bahah. anyway. the roads were bad, so i spent the night there. and then, they were still bad in the morning.. so i had to stay there until my dad could pick me up when he got off work at 3. unfortunately, miriam had to go to work from 9-6. so, i went up to her room and i started reading a nancy drew book... and then 5 hours later, i woke up with a splitting headache. (now i'll never learn the mystery of the missing window!)

and the roads were bad. i got really carsick. when i walked inside, my mom said that i looked like someone who had just taken lsd for the first time... but now, some tylenol, dayquil, diet dr. pepper, and peanut butter toast later.. i'm much better. yes. but the roads are seriously crappy. there's a snowdrift in our driveway that is higher than my car. it is beautiful and wild and positively impossible to drive in. the perfect kind of night for curling up on the couch with hot chocolate, popcorn, and a movie.

random amusing quotes: "you only charge one cent for hugs?! i charge a quarter, your hugs must suck!"

dammit. i know there are so many more amusing quotes. but alack, i can't remember them.

um. the bake sale went reallly well. (um, i don't think i mentioned this.. i was in charge of the thespian fundraiser bakesale. and, it went really well.) i just baked more cookies. wooot.

miriam and i went to the jazz thingummie at the coffeehouse, and ran into steeeevie and miiiike c. and aaaaaron and jeeeeeff and goodtimes were had. mike and talia and josh rocked it!! and so did everyone else, only i don't really know them. *nods* and, it was fun. and then stevie and miriam and i went walmarting, and i bought more slice and bake cookies. (actually, they aren't even slice and bake.. they're pre-sliced slice and bake!! god, i'm lazy.) and we played with the kids presidential trivia toy. we ran for president and got 800 votes! yay!

totally forgot i had a spanish composition due today, but i wrote the whole thing in 20 minutes at 11:00. and it's mostly coherent!! i'm my hero.

(hi wendy! i don't think i know you. but i'm gratified that you don't know the words to "lovely rita" either.)

"yeah well, if the game was called 'hit megan in the cleavage', i'd be really good!"

"sophie's bling blinging with the 'bloons!"

wheeeeeee. 2:00 was superfun. i heart heart heart all the people who have 2:00 free with me. anyway. mike had his a&w mug, so we tried bouncing pennies off the table and getting them into the mug. i was really, really, really bad at this game, but it was much fun anyway. pennies make a peculiar noise when they are bounced off a lounge table. just fyi. anyway, about 1/2 hour into our game, coach gault asked us to stop. well, he asked us about 3 times. but we're slow. *shrug* yeah. and, miriam and eliz and mike and stevie and i are going to go see the vagina monologues!!! yay! it'll be hilaaaarious to see mike.. and... yeah. *snickets*

after kickboxing, i helped miriam frost cookies she made for the bake sale. yay! *loves her tools*

(woot!) [so yeah, i'm a geek. but that's fine with me! 14-inch ibook, heeere i come.]

mmm, someone's eating chinese and it smells really good.

anywho. i also get my braces off february 25. (that's in two weeeeeks! yay!) granted, i will have to wear a retainer for like.. the rest of my natural life... but hey.

at 2:00, sophie made me a pirate mask out of her paper plate, and i wore it under my glasses. it was great. (and it smelled like peanut butter, even though she ate a plain bagel off of it. we think it's a clever plot of the school store to re-use plates, not counting on people smelling them. ha!) anyway. all i could see out of, though, was one little hole, so i was caught unawares when nathaniel poked me in the eye and made me fall over. doh. and then we ripped the plate fighting over it. double doh.

meanwhile. talia and i were singing "lovely rita" today, except we couldn't remember any other words.. so it was like, "lovely rita metermaid.. do do doot do doot do doot... *pause* lovely rita metermaid...." yeah.

so yeah. i totally ditched* my car this morning... townline road wasn't plowed, and i hit an icy patch and went totally out of control. it ended up so that the rear end of my car was in the ditch. on the left side of the road. um. but like, i'm totally fine, the car's fine [and let's face it: how could you tell if it wasn't?] i was however amused to note that instead of my life flashing before my eyes, a random stream of obscenities flashed through my head. shit... god fucking dammit i hope i don't fucking crash the fucking car dammit... so i wonder what that says about me? ^_^

    * i use "ditched" here in the midwestern sense of the word, meaning "to run into a ditch".

    i. adore. neil. gaiman.

(from his journal, a few days back...)

I think that all writing is useful for honing writing skills. I think you get better as a writer by writing, and whether that means that you're writing a singularly deep and moving novel about the pain or pleasure of modern existence or you're writing Smeagol-Gollum slash you're still putting one damn word after another and learning as a writer.

(I just made that up. I imagine it would go something like: "Oh, the preciouss, we takes it our handssses and we rubs it and touchess it, gollum....no, Smeagol musst not touch the preciousss, the master said only he can touch the precioussss.... bad masster, he doess not know the precious like we does, no, gollum, and we wants it, we wants it hard in our handses, yesss..." etc etc)

(but i will point out that the chicago theater-- where velma and roxie perform at the end-- that's where i saw tori!)

("my boyfriend has many tattoos, but he's a republican."
    "no, republicans don't have tattoos!"
    )

i have an interesting story to share, i think. i'm not entirely sure where it begins. but first i have to say... annie, ever since you mentioned that, i keep hearing this song as "ATM"... *sigh* atm, atm... by the morning maybe we'll remember who i am...

aanyway. so. i think i'll start this story off about a week ago, when mike had a prophetic dream that saved him from getting into a car crash. basically, in his dream, he was about to leave the house, forgot his keys, went back to get him, left, and got smashed by a blue mid-90's car that ran a stop sign. so the next day, he was about to leave the house, forgot his keys, went back for them, and saw a blue mid-90's car coming up to a 4-way stop. mike waited for the car to go, and it ran the stop sign...

so moving up to last night. i dreamed that the roads were snowy, and i swerved to avoid hitting a bunch of pedestrians that appeared out of nowhere. in doing so, i ran into nathaniel's car. we were all fine, but his car was totalled. so today i was telling him about this, and i mentioned that this morning i had parked next to him, but i hadn't hit him, so my dream wasn't prophetic like mike's. and he said, maybe the car is symbolic... and we joked around a bit, and decided that his car was definitely a phallic symbol.

moving forward a couple hours... nathaniel said he was thirsty, so i threw him my water bottle. unfortunately, he failed to catch it and it hit him in the junk. *sigh* i felt reaaaaally bad about it. like, he almost cried. and it was nathaniel. it was weird.

i think that probably took too long to tell for its ultimate payout. but you know, once he stopped being in intense pain, nathaniel and i were both terribly amused...

i just wrote him a poem to apologize.

"kennedy is not a vampire" [title is an ap lit inside joke]

    nathaniel: i want to apologize
for hitting you somewhere that's painful for guys
    it was an accident;
    no harm was meant.
at least you're not a goat
    who drowned in a moat
and it didn't leave a scar
    or destroy your car.

    the end.

i'm tiredish. but i have no homework. except euro. boo-urns for euro. but that's not due for awhile. yeah.

you know, i totally forgot to mention the best part of yesterday's tournament: mike and i both got math tossups! (neither mike nor i are currently enrolled in math classes...) we were proud.

anyway. last night, we attempted to go out to eat for reid's birthday, but we had forgotten to make reservations. and... well, bloomington-normal has one of the highest percentages of restaurants per capita, and every damn one of them had a one hour+ wait. doh. so after trying about 5 places, we ended up at ming's. mmm, mings. then, we went home, and i looked through nearly every video we own (which is a lot) and finally found my copy of the final sacrifice! my favorite mst3k ever! so reid and i watched that. (although i was really freaked out, because somehow someone taped over the first minute with a random bit of clueless. wtf? but all it taped over was the theme song, so that was okay.)

last night.. i stayed home and watched fight club, and was in bed by 10. mmmmmm sleep.

spaz bowl today was a lot of fun. although the last 3 matches (out of 8) had impossibly hard questions. like, in the last match i think uhigh got one tossup. (out of 20.) gooo team. but yeah, it was gooodtimes. mike captained. and, maybe it was because of all the sleep or something, but i didn't feel neaaarly as hostile towards ryan and dan today. (partially, perhaps, becuase i got a good number of tossups and it made them meeker. more meek? meek. meek is a fun word. meek meek meek!)

the pop music questions were aaawesome though. there was this one bonus that was like, "name these artists that your parents might have listened to..." the answers? bob dylan, joni mitchell, paul mccartney, and paul simon. bahaha. and then there was a tossup about sarah mclaughlan, aaand another bonus about beatles #1s from 1964.

and. my grandparents are in town, and we're going out to eat soon. and i should really like, do some homework before i leave. but, i bet i won't.
