It follows the misadventures of a small puppet named Princeton, just out of college and searching for an apartment, eventually coming upon a free one located on Avenue Q in NYC. He meets a whole gang of new people, such as Kate Monster (a kindergarten teaching assistant searching for true love, but unfortunately, never getting anywhere), Rod (a Republican investment banker with a deep dark secret), Nicky (Rod's roommate who consistently slacks off), Trekkie Monster (a reclusive creature obsessed with the Internet), Lucy (a vixenish vamp with a dangerous edge), Brian (a hopeful comic engaged to Christmas Eve), Christmas Eve (a therapist who moved to NYC from Japan), and Gary Coleman (Yes, that Gary Coleman, the superintendent of the apartment building).
